About our Practice

The physicians at Schwartz-Wiekamp Medical Group practice the full scope of family medicine for all ages, including pediatrics, adults and obstetrics. Your family physician reviews and updates your medical history, and works to establish a caring and continuing relationship to help you manage your health and prevent disease.

Some of the Physicians at this family practice location utilize the services of Hospitalists should you become hospitalized at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. For more information, click here. For your convenience, X-ray, EKG and laboratory services are offered on-site.

Laboratory Hours:

For your convenience, the Laboratory hours at the Schwartz-Wiekamp Medical Group location are: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 12 noon - 8:00 p.m.

SWMG Med-Point

As of June 30, Med-Point at Schwartz-Wiekamp Medical Group located on Vistula and Bittersweet roads, will temporarily close as we transition to a MedPoint®express^SM. You can count on the same dedicated service you have come to enjoy over the years at Schwartz-Wiekamp.

No appointment is needed at MedPoint express. We're open seven days a week to meet your busy schedule. Treatment is provided by a nurse practitioner who has extensive training in family medicine. We will still treat a variety of medical conditions, including sinus infections, rashes and minor burns, as well as offer immunizations, including flu vaccinations and physicals.

Emergency & After Hours

For medical problems after regular office hours, please call our answering service at 647-1900. If it is a true emergency, call 911 or proceed to an emergency room where the physician on duty will begin treatment and notify us.

Schwartz-Wiekamp Medical Group is located at the corner of Vistula and Bittersweet roads in Mishawaka, just south of Penn High School near the Mishawaka-Penn Public Library and Martin’s Super Market.

Remembering Dar Wiekamp

Memorial recently witnessed the passing of one of its most ardent champions and strongest supporters. Darwin L. ?Dar? Wiekamp. Dar was among a very select group of our most important community champions who have also left an enduring legacy beyond their own lives. That legacy arches over many aspects of our lives today.

The Wiekamp?s understood that "health"? springs from all facets of human lives. Their philanthropic support of Memorial?s Mission led them to provide core funding for Schwartz-Wiekamp Medical Group in Mishawaka. This center for urgent care and family medicine now provides a medical home for many in the eastern end of St. Joseph County. For Memorial?s Children?s Hospital, Dar and Dot stepped up to support their grandchildren, Jim and Julie Schwartz, boosting the launch of Memorial?s Developmental Pediatrics Program.

We all join with his family in celebrating his long, full and meaningful life ? meaningful to all who live here in their community.
