  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in partnership with many organizations including the AAP, has launched an awareness campaign called "Learn The Signs, Act Early", to educate parents about childhood development, including early warning signs of autism and other developmental disorders.   • Autism Speaks, www.autismspeaks.org, has a video glossary with clips of typical/atypical behavior and also a "100 Day Kit" for newly diagnosed families (under Community, Family, 100 day)

  • National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities (NICHCY), P.O. Box 1492, Washington, DC, 20013, (800) 695-0285. Free and low cost information on disabilities, www.nichcy.org.
